New Pricing Strategy Brings Vida V2 in Reach of More Commuters

In a bold move aimed at boosting sales and market presence, Hero MotoCorp has slashed prices of its Vida V2 electric scooter by ₹32,000. The aggressive pricing now positions the Vida V2 below popular rivals such as the TVS iQube and Bajaj Chetak, making it a more compelling option in India’s competitive EV two-wheeler segment.

Battery Variants and Performance Specs

The Vida V2 lineup includes three distinct variants—V2 Lite, V2 Plus, and V2 Pro—each offering different performance benchmarks.

  • Vida V2 Lite: Equipped with a 2.2 kWh battery, this base model delivers a 94 km range (IDC), accelerates from 0-40 kmph in 4.2 seconds, and achieves a top speed of 69 kmph. It includes features such as a 7-inch TFT display, LED projector headlamp, regenerative braking, keyless entry, and dual riding modes—Eco and Ride.

  • Vida V2 Plus: This mid-tier version houses a 3.4 kWh battery offering a 143 km range (IDC) with a 0-40 kmph acceleration in 3.4 seconds and top speed of 85 kmph. It adds a third riding mode—Sport—and retains all features from the Lite variant.

  • Vida V2 Pro: Topping the lineup, the Pro variant sports a 3.94 kWh battery with an extended range of 165 km (IDC). It accelerates from 0-40 kmph in just 2.9 seconds and offers a top speed of 90 kmph. Unique to this model is a fourth ride mode—Custom—and a removable battery, distinguishing it from competitors who offer only swappable units.

Market Impact and Distribution Strategy

Despite robust specifications, the Vida brand has struggled to gain significant traction in the electric mobility space, where competitors like Ola Electric, Bajaj Auto, TVS, and Ather Energy lead the charge. However, with this substantial price reduction and an expanded distribution network through Hero’s new Premia dealerships across 200+ cities, Vida is poised for a market rebound.
