Indian Railways Adds 31 Coaches to 15 Train Pairs for Summer Travel Surge

Temporary Coach Augmentation to Improve Availability of Confirmed Tickets

Jaipur, April 29 — In preparation for the increased travel demand during the summer vacation period, Indian Railways has announced the temporary augmentation of 31 coaches across 15 train pairs. The move is aimed at improving the availability of confirmed tickets and ensuring a comfortable journey for passengers.

North Western Railway’s Chief Public Relations Officer, Shashi Kiran, confirmed that the additional coaches are being introduced to accommodate more passengers during peak season. These include various categories such as Sleeper Class, AC 2-Tier, AC 3-Tier, and General coaches.

Key Train Routes Receiving Additional Coaches

Significant temporary coach augmentations are planned on several popular routes:

• Train 14707/14708 Bikaner-Dadar-Bikaner: One Sleeper Class coach added from Bikaner (May 1–31) and from Dadar (May 2–June 1).

• Train 22977/22978 Jaipur-Jodhpur-Jaipur:

  • May 1–2: One Second AC and one First-cum-Second AC coach added.

  • May 3–16: One Second AC and one Third AC coach added.

• Train 14801/14802 Jodhpur-Indore-Jodhpur: One Sleeper and one General coach added from Jodhpur (May 1–31) and from Indore (May 4–June 3).

• Train 12465/12466 Indore-Bhagat Ki Kothi-Indore: One Sleeper and one General coach added from Indore (May 2–June 1) and from Bhagat Ki Kothi (May 3–June 2).

• Trains 14854/14853, 14864/14863, 14866/14865 Jodhpur-Varanasi City-Jodhpur: One Third AC coach added from Jodhpur (May 1–31) and from Varanasi City (May 2–June 1).

• Train 14807/14808 Jodhpur-Dadar-Jodhpur: Two Third AC, two Sleeper, and one Third AC Economy coach added from Jodhpur (May 2–30) and from Dadar (May 3–31).

• Train 20483/20484 Bhagat Ki Kothi-Dadar-Bhagat Ki Kothi: Two Third AC, two Sleeper, and one Third AC Economy coach added (May 1–29 from Bhagat Ki Kothi, May 2–30 from Dadar).

• Train 20485/20486 Jodhpur-Sabarmati-Jodhpur: One Third AC and two Sleeper coaches added (May 1–31 from Jodhpur, May 3–June 2 from Sabarmati).

• Train 20492/20491 Sabarmati-Jaisalmer-Sabarmati: One Third AC and two Sleeper coaches added (May 1–31 from Sabarmati, May 2–June 1 from Jaisalmer).

• Train 20475/20476 Bikaner-Pune-Bikaner: One Sleeper coach added (May 5–26 from Bikaner, May 6–27 from Pune).

• Train 22497/22498 Sri Ganganagar-Tiruchirappalli-Sri Ganganagar Express: One Third AC coach added (May 5–26 from Sri Ganganagar, May 9–30 from Tiruchirappalli).

• Train 20481/20482 Bhagat Ki Kothi-Tiruchirappalli-Bhagat Ki Kothi Express: One Sleeper coach added (May 7–28 from Bhagat Ki Kothi, May 10–31 from Tiruchirappalli).
