Bengaluru: In the wake of Operation Sindoor and growing concerns over potential terror attacks within the country, the Union government has directed the Karnataka state administration to remain vigilant. Responding to this directive, the Bengaluru Police Department has enforced strict security measures across 41 major malls in the city, according to sources.
Security arrangements have been significantly intensified both inside and outside these malls. Every visitor is being thoroughly screened by security personnel, with strict instructions to prevent the entry of sharp or dangerous weapons.
Police have also advised mall authorities to deploy additional security guards to ensure a stronger on-ground presence. Along with increased manpower, the directive includes installation of more CCTV cameras inside and around the malls to closely monitor public movement.
In case of any suspicious objects or activities, the public and mall staff have been urged to immediately alert the nearest police control room.
The police department has also issued a formal advisory to mall owners and management teams, emphasizing the need for comprehensive safety preparedness. This includes ensuring that CCTV systems and fire safety equipment are functional and well-maintained, with periodic checks to verify their effectiveness.
These precautions come amid heightened national vigilance, with public places and crowded venues under watch to prevent any untoward incidents.
