UN secretary general Antonio Guterres met Mohammad Yunus on Thursday in New York and expressed "total solidarity" with the interim government in Bangladesh , saying UN stands ready to support reforms in the country.
He also expressed appreciation for the close cooperation between UN and Bangladesh, including its contribution to peacekeeping, and reiterated UN's readiness to support the country in its ongoing transition and reform process. Newly adopted UN Pact of Future was relevant to Bangladesh, he said.
