Raipur: Soon after the mishap, hundreds of workers and their family members gathered outside the plant, protesting and accusing the company management of gross negligence.
They alleged that the lift had not undergone routine safety inspections for months. "This could have been prevented if proper checks were done," said one of the protesting workers.
Police personnel from Dabhra station were deployed to control the situation, and senior administrative officials reached the spot to pacify the agitated crowd.

The district administration has directed RKM Powergen to provide compensation to the families of the deceased and ensure quality medical care for the injured.
