WWE SmackDown Results & Highlights (July 26, 2024): Gauntlet Match and more

Send Push
Friday Night SmackDown had plenty of exciting moments in store for us and has set the stage perfectly for SummerSlam 2024 , which is now eight days away. We saw the champ, Cody Rhodes , address the crowd, and we got to see LA Knight put up a massive performance. Last but not least, The Bloodline and especially Jacob Fatu were in full swing during tonight’s episode of SmackDown.

Let’s take a closer look at the results of all the action on Friday Night SmackDown on July 26, 2024.
Here are the results for WWE SmackDown (July 26, 2024) 1) LA Knight takes on Santos Escobar
LA Knight has been preparing to take on Logan Paul for the United States Championship at SummerSlam 2024. Tonight, he took on Escobar to keep himself sharp and almost paid dearly. Escobar seemed to be a strong opponent, but Knight turned things around towards the end of the fight and piled on the punishment.

It seemed like he would lose after an interference from Logan Paul helped Escobar land a superkick on The Megastar. However, Knight displayed just how resilient he is and turned things around before nailing Santos with a Blunt Force Trauma. He went on to win the match via pinfall.

2) Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair take the stage

Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair took the stage and immediately called out the newly crowned WWE Women’s Tag Team champions, Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre. They expressed their desire for a rematch and were looking at the ramp for the pair to show up. However, Dawn and Fyre used a dirty trick and entered the ring from behind to take down Cargill and Belair.

Despite their cheap shot, the new champs were unable to overpower Jade and Bianca and were thrown out of the ring.

3) Tag Team Gauntlet Match
Baron Corbin and Apollo Crews, Angel Garza and Berto Carillo, the Street Profits, Pretty Deadly, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, Tama Tonga, and Jacob Fatu. This was the order in which the tag teams took the stage for tonight’s Gauntlet Match to become the No. 1 contenders for the title. Corbin and Crews started the match off strong and were able to make quick work of Garza and Carillo.

It was the Street Profits’ show, both partners displayed excellent technique and athleticism and went on to eliminate the teams of Corbin and Crews, Pretty Deadly, Luke Gallows, and Karl Anderson.

However, the Street Profits were already out of energy and were unable to put up a strong effort when the Bloodline members, Tama Tonga and Jacob Fatu reached the ring. The Bloodline made quick work of the Profits and are now the No. 1 contenders for the Tag Team Championship. The Street Profits put up an excellent performance, and it has to be said that they’re championship material.

4) Cody Rhodes is looking forward to taking on Solo Sikoa
Terrence Crawford took the ring and knocked out Austin Theory after he and Grayson Waller called out the former for his actions last week. Crawford handed Cody Rhodes a Steel Chair last week, which helped him beat up the former Tag Team Champions with ease. Following these events, we got to see a pre-taped promo from the champ himself.

He explained how he wasn’t sure that Solo Sikoa was ready for a match against him. He didn’t have faith in the new Tribal Chief to put up a decent fight for the WWE Championship belt. However, Rhodes is not so sure anymore and will be giving his best performance to avoid any surprises at SummerSlam 2024.

5) Nia Jax and Tiffany Stratton vs Bayley and Michin
Last week, an interference from Bayley helped Michin defeat Tiffany Stratton in the ring. This week, the reigning champ had the cards reversed on her, and an interference from Tiffany Stratton led to a loss for Bayley. Michin was looking amazing in tonight’s matchup and landed plenty of high-flying moves riling up the crowd as she went at her opponents.

However, the referee lost focus for a quick second after all the contestants came together at once. Stratton took advantage and was able to nail Bayley with the MITB suitcase that she destroyed last week. Nia Jax saw her oppurtunity and jumped on Bayley from the top of the ropes. She proceeded to sit on the champ’s chest and won the match via pinfall. An unfortunate result for Michin and Bayley, who put up an entertaining fight.
