Instead of running across the field, scoring goals for his team, the footballer-turned-fighter will be seen running around within the cage, attacking his opponent, landing kicks and paving his way for the championship belt. While the former left-back signed with PFL and teamed up with Cedric Doumbe in order to prepare for his debut bout scheduled for May 23, 2025, a recent post by Brendan Loughnane showcases Evra in a training session with the MMA veteran.

Along with the confirmation of Evra’s transition from football to MMA, the post also highlighted one of the infamous rivalries in football, between Patrice Evra and Luis Suarez. Evra took a dig at Suarez’s biting controversy in the sport.
A recent press release by the PFL further solidified Evra’s entry into the world of MMA. According to the release, the athlete stated, “You guys should know by now, I love this game too! I’ve performed on the world’s biggest stages, won every major trophy in football, but PFL Europe Paris will be an incredibly special night for me. I’ve been training alongside the best in the world for years, and they’ll also tell you I’m ready for this. I’m going to put on a show at the Accor Arena on 23 May, so come watch the spectacle.”
