NEW DELHI: Legendary Indian spinner Anil Kumble praised Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja for their exceptional partnership on the first day of the Chennai Test against Bangladesh.

This pair helped India recover impressively, forming an unbeaten 195-run partnership.

At the end of day one, Ashwin remained not out with 102 runs off 112 balls, striking at a rate of 91.07, including 10 fours and 2 sixes.

Former England cricketer Michael Vaughan also commended Ashwin and Jadeja for their batting display.

"Serious cricketers .. @ashwinravi99 & @imjadeja.. How often at home in India do they produce magic with the Bat .. !! They will no doubt follow with the Ball as well," Vaughan wrote on X.
