Former Cardinals' player and two-time Golden Glove winner bids farewell from baseball

The baseball community is facing heartbreak after heartbreak, and it’s not because of their favorite teams losing, but due to legendary players taking retirement from the game. To join the list is Kolten Wong , a legendary player who was with the Cardinals for almost a decade. He recently announced his retirement, which caused a frenzy over social media.

He has played a total of 11 seasons in MLB, out of which he was part of the core Cardinals team for 8 years. The remaining teams of which Wong was a part were the Dodgers, Brewers, and Mariners.


Wong’s long list of achievements came from when he was part of the Cardinals. The infielder won the Golden Glove two times, once in 2019 and then in 2020. He switched to the Milwaukee Brewers for the 2021 season, after which he went to the Mariners and then to the Dodgers. However, his contribution to the Cardinals has been appreciated by both management and fans.



When he last played for the Dodgers, Wong had a .835 OPS in just 20 games, which showed his class in the game. Now that Wong has decided to retire from the game, fans are wishing him a happy retirement and cherishing all the memories the player gave them.

In just a span of a week, two legendary Cardinals players took retirement from the game: Matt Carpenter and now Kolten Wong.
