Following his departure from WWE earlier this year, Ricochet has now moved to AEW . He made his debut for the promotion on August 25 at 2024 All In. Three days later, he fought his first singles match at Dynamite, where he defeated Kyle Fletcher. Things are just getting started for Ricochet at AEW, and he undoubtedly has greater things in store for us in the future at this promotion.

As he gears up to gun for titles in AEW, Ricochet has recently said that he is interested in returning to New Japan Pro-Wrestling ( NJPW ). He had already been a part of the promotion once before, from 2013 to 2017, and is again willing to make a return.

“There's still a lot of things in New Japan that I didn't get to accomplish,” says Ricochet

In a recent appearance on The Babyfaces podcast, Ricochet opened up about potentially returning to NJPW, which is possible thanks to AEW’s partnership with the company. He stated, "I already won the Best of the Super Juniors, so I feel like now I should upgrade my goals to the G1, for sure. Actually, obviously, there's still a lot of things in New Japan that I didn't get to accomplish that I still plan on accomplishing."

It was confirmed recently that Ricochet will return to Japan and debut for GLEAT on October 6 this year. He is all set to join hands with Cima to go up against Soma Watanabe and El Hijo del Vikingo. And now it looks like Ricochet may stay in Japan for a potential return to NJPW. It remains to be seen whether this comes to fruition or not.

The last time Ricochet was in Japan was in 2017, when he was still performing under NJPW, before parting ways with the company in November that year. He made his debut at NJPW in 2013 in a tag team match alongside Kenny Omega, where the duo defeated the villainous stable Suzuki-gun (Taichi and Taka Michinoku). Ricochet went on to win an array of coveted titles in the promotion including IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team and NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Team Championships. His partners included iconic wrestling stars like Satoshi Kojima, Ryusuke Taguchi, the current NJPW President Hiroshi Tanahashi, and fellow AEW star Matt Sydal.
