Srinagar: Former separatist leader Syed Saleem Geelani , who was part of Hurriyat Conference (M), joined the People's Democratic Party (PDP) Sunday in the presence of party chief Mehbooba Mufti, saying that he chose PDP as it addresses the Kashmir issue and the plight of people in jails.
"I was inspired by Mufti Mohammad Sayeed's focus on resolving the Kashmir issue and advocating release of people in jails. I would like to carry his mission forward and strengthen Mehbooba ji's hands," Geelani said. Geelani was associated with the Hurriyat Conference (M) led by Mirwaiz Umar for decades.
