NEW DELHI: Call it the demand of modern-day cricket or sheer endurance, but Mustafizur Rahman 's whirlwind 24 hours stands as a testament to the ever-evolving life of a journeyman cricketer.
On Saturday night, Mustafizur was in action for Bangladesh in the first T20I against the UAE in Sharjah, delivering a sharp spell of 2/17 in four overs to help his side register a 27-run win. Less than 24 hours later and over 2,000 km away, the left-arm pacer found himself in Delhi, donning the Delhi Capitals jersey for their IPL clash against Gujarat Titans at the Arun Jaitley Stadium .

There was little time for rest or recovery — only a flight and another game under the lights. Replacing Mitchell Starc in the Capitals XI, Mustafizur was thrust straight into the action, exemplifying the grind of franchise and international commitments.
Who's that IPL player?
At the toss, DC skipper Axar Patel acknowledged the situation, saying: “We want players to be 100% fit… Mustafizur comes in for Starc.” DC also brought in Vipraj Nigam in place of Madhav Tiwari, maintaining a three-pacer, three-spinner balance.
Meanwhile, GT captain Shubman Gill won the toss and chose to bowl, bringing Kagiso Rabada back into the mix. “We've worked hard on our fielding, and we're hoping everyone steps up,” said Gill.
From Sharjah's desert breeze to Delhi's IPL glare, Mustafizur's weekend has been anything but ordinary.
