Shah Rukh and Kajol starring ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ which is one of the iconic films in Hindi cinema, also has Salman Khan in a crucial role. The superstar made a memorable cameo in Karan Johar’s 1998 blockbuster, however, not many know the story behind Salman Khan's signing for the role of Aman, a character that became iconic despite limited screen time.
During his appearance on a reality show earlier, Karan recalled how he struggled to find an actor to play the role of Aman. He revealed that nobody wanted to play the character, as everyone thought 'It's Shah Rukh's film, why should we do it?' He recalled approaching 3-4 actors, however, they turned down the offer.
KJo confessed that he was ‘really depressed’ as everyone he approached turned down the role. Later one night, he went to Chunky Panday’s party, and Salman Khan too showed up. Salman came up to KJo and asked, “Did you finish shopping?” KJo didn’t get it and Salman asked, “Haan, tu gaya na sabke paas, wo shopping he toh hoti hai, is film ko karne ke liye kisi ko pagal hona chahiye aur mai wo pagal hu.”
Karan Johar was clearly surprised by Salman Khan’s approach, and they joined hands and the rest is history!
