Vivek Oberoi started his career with the 2002 film Company, directed by Ram Gopal Varma, and quickly rose to fame with a number of films, including Saathiya, Omkara, and Krrish 3 . He recently reflected on his early entrepreneurial experiences, revealing how his father, Suresh Oberoi, encouraged him to sell perfumes door-to-door when he was just ten years old. This formative experience not only taught him valuable lessons about business, but also shaped his approach to life and career.

In an interview with Entertainment Live, Vivek shared that his father wanted to impart practical skills before their planned holiday. “I was about 10 years old when my father approached me, saying we’d go on a holiday in a month, but before that, he would teach me something over the first four weeks,” he recalled. He emphasized, “I made mistakes but learned a lot,” highlighting the importance of experiential learning in his upbringing.

Vivek's father provided him with a selection of perfumes to sell, and he was responsible for tracking inventory and sales. He noted, “I went door to door on my bicycle, carrying my school bag filled with the inventory and merchandise.” This hands-on experience allowed him to grasp essential business concepts such as accounting and sales at a young age.

By the age of 15, Vivek began to formulate his own business ideas and ventured into the stock market. At 19, he launched a tech startup, which he successfully sold by the age of 22. He stated, “That’s when I realised it was possible to establish a company, sell it to an MNC and help both investors and myself earn money.” This early success not only reinforced his entrepreneurial spirit but also provided him with the confidence to navigate the challenges of his acting career.

Vivek emphasized the significance of hard work in achieving success across various fields, stating, “There should be no mistake in hard work from my side. We have to give 100 percent. When we do that, the result would mostly be good: be it in films, business, philanthropy or love.” He acknowledged that while the workload can be overwhelming, having a supportive team can make a significant difference.
