Exclusive- Hunar Hali calls out the paparazzi for shooting without consent and slams the trolls; says 'Mujhe yeh behuda publicity nai chahiye'

Hunar Hali recently visited Sara Arfeen Khan's girls' day out where one of the pap shot a footage of hers while she was adjusting her outfit. As soon as the video went on platforms, the actress faced a lot of scrutiny. Now, Hunar exclusive spoke to Times Of India TV sharing about the incident and how it has affected her family and her.

The recent incident surely left a scar, would you like to share your side of it?
It’s a human element, an unexpected nature of events that happens in day-to-day life. Capturing & distributing such videos without my consent, exploiting for sensationalism and focusing inappropriately on my body was a paparazzi’s individual call. If you see, what was the incident in short? A mere cup of a halter top that came off that’s it but it was unnecessarily sensationalised; “Hunar Hali has an awkward slip” “Hunar Hali was wearing inappropriate clothing” “Hunar Hali does publicity stunt”, excuse me?

Hunar further added to her side of story
Firstly, if it was an awkward slip which they are headlining it as then why is the pap posting an awkward slip? Did I ask them to do so? No! Secondly, I was wearing a halter top and trousers which is very common in summer I prefer such clothing, no intimate body part of mine was showing then how was it inappropriate clothing? It’s just unfortunate that the cup of the halter top fell off.
Thirdly, I have messages that my manager and I sent to so many handles to remove the post as it was shot without my consent and it’s not appropriate content for public viewing. Many popular social media handles having followers in millions were very understanding and removed it effective immediately on my request from their accounts, I thank them for it but many did not rather they pinned it on their feeds to get maximum attention on their profiles and views which they got also. To each their own so my answer to this allegation is that if I did it for a publicity stunt then why will I get the posts removed?

As the trollers kept calling it a publicity stunt, do you think it is important to call out the wrong?
My people, my audiences have seen my work, seen my interviews. Onscreen and offscreen they are well-versed with the characters I’ve played and the kind of bubbly person I am. I’ve never ever done anything bold onscreen so they know how I am and that’s why they were shocked with such an allegation put on me and such a video of mine unnecessarily being sensationalised. I am Hunar Hali who has never done nudity onscreen or offscreen which is why my people and my audiences supported me and many comments were there accusing the paps of flaunting such videos of mine and putting the blame on me. I would like to thank my audience for coming out in my support and calling out the trollers for their wrongdoing.

As the trollers kept calling it a publicity stunt, do you think it is important to call out the wrong?
Apni pants niche karke, sideways turn karke purposely apni lingerie dikhana to paps, sheer tops pehen kar apne intimate body parts dikhana to paps and koi toke toh kehna ohh mein theek kar leti hun. All these kind of stunts na maine kabhi kiye hai aur na hi mujhe karne ki zaroorat hai . Just to defame agar ek videographer aise harkat karega jo meine expect bhi nai kiya tha ki koi chalte hue aate hui yeh shoot bhi karega and to top it all aise post bhi karega . I was wearing a halter top and the cups of the top slipped, while adjusting I turned and rectified it, I was shocked to see the audacity and indecency of the person who posted such nonsense on their social media handle. Such a shame to see what levels have people gotten down to. I’m living in a metropolitan city, Mumbai where I was walking towards hanging out with my friends on a pampering session day out. It was a mere vulnerable state which should not have been shot and jis ne bhi yeh shoot kiya aur post kiya unn mein itni sense honi chahiye, ki yeh kya content hai jo aap dikha rahe ho duniya ko? Mujhe yeh behuda publicity nai chahiye, jo log karte hai unhe yeh sab Mubarak ho.

It is indeed difficult to deal with comments constantly, how are you dealing with people around you?
The bottom line is it’s a free country people will do what they wish to, shoot what they want to, and I can’t moral police anyone. Yeh sab basic sense hota hai, kisi mein hota hai, kisi mein nahi hota hai isliye I didn’t even give any importance to this video ki yeh post kyun viral ho raha hai. My family, in-laws, relatives, best friends, and neighbours all sent me these videos alag alag sites ke ki hunar; “this we are seeing on the internet” Regardless I was ignoring and not paying attention because abhi jisko jo bhi post karna hai how can u stop anyone. Lekin when I started seeing posts and news and heard rumours where my character was being questioned on a few media sites telling me ki publicity stunt kiya hai hunar ne, it angered me and I decided to speak up for myself. I’m known to call a spade a spade isliye I question back and I’m giving this interview only to shut people up who raised allegations against me that if anyone wants to raise questions then raise them on the paps who shoot and post without our consent. I and my manager asked many paps to delete posts and many respectable ones deleted too but some did not because their agendas were clearly to gain followers and views by showing such things in the name of content. So if anyone calls themselves intelligent, then they should question them and not me.
