Jamshedpur: A 30-year-old village head was hacked to death in West Singhbhum. His body was recovered from the roadside near Basa Gamharia village under Pandrasali outpost in Chaibasa thana limits on Monday.
The deceased, Manjeet Haiburu, who is a Munda (traditional village head) of Basa Gamharia village under Khutpani block was missing since Sunday.
The police sources said personal enmity seems to be the cause behind the murder and investigation is going on that angle however the case will be examined comprehensively. SP, Ashutosh Shekhar denied any Maoist link to the murder.
"Mobile call records and materials relevant to the case are being probed to ascertain the cause of the murder and identify the culprits," the SP said.
