Raipur: The state has made a strong mark at the Khelo India Youth Games, clinching a gold medal and a bronze in the Kalaripayattu event.
Arjun Kumar Chandra and Anant Swarnkar demonstrated exceptional skill to secure the gold, while Ragini and Tavarna Patel won the bronze. The seventh edition of the Khelo India Youth Games 2025 is currently being held at different venues in Bihar. Chhattisgarh is being represented by a contingent of 15 members, including 11 players, in various disciplines.
Sharing details of the achievements, Anis Memon informed that in the stick fight event, Arjun Kumar Chandra and Anant Swarnkar from Korba exhibited remarkable prowess, bagging the first gold medal for Chhattisgarh and bringing honour to the district and the state.
He highlighted that this is the first time Chhattisgarh has won a gold medal in Kalaripayattu at the Khelo India Youth Games.
In another event, Ragini and Tavarna Patel, also from Korba district, secured a bronze medal in the Long Staff Lathi competition of Kalaripayattu, further adding to team Chhattisgarh's medal tally.
