3 boys injured by lightning strikes

Raipur: Three boys were struck by lightning in Kurudih village panchayat of Korba district on Monday evening following a sudden change in weather with thunder. Manish Kashyap (14) and Lokesh Kumar Karsh (13) sustained serious burn injuries and are undergoing treatment at the district hospital. Another boy, who received minor injuries, was discharged after initial treatment.

Panic gripped the village following the incident. Doctors stated that the condition of the two seriously injured boys is stable. The administration has appealed to the public to remain in safe places during adverse weather conditions.

Meanwhile, Raipur experienced cloudy conditions since morning, which turned into a brief spell of rain with wind in the afternoon on Tuesday. The local meteorological department has forecast lightning in isolated areas and expects this weather pattern to continue until 15 May, after which temperatures are likely to increase by 2-3 degrees Celsius.
