Kochi: Four members of a family, including two children, are feared dead after their house caught on fire in Kombodinjaal in Idukki district on Friday evening. Police and fire force officials reached the remote location after locals reported the incident. The house was completely gutted in the blaze, and the remains of the victims were found inside, though identification is yet to be confirmed.
"The house is in an isolated area. People informed us about the fire in the evening. Our team reached the spot and is investigating," said an official from the Vellathuval Police station.
One body was recovered and sent to the Adimali taluk hospital. Police said a detailed forensic examination and further investigation would begin on Sunday to determine the cause of the fire and confirm the identities of the deceased.
