Guwahati: Arunachal Pradesh cabinet on Tuesday approved the holding of a 5-day ‘Sunrise Festival' to celebrate the India's first sunrise that occurs at Dong, which is located in Anjaw district. CM said it's a major step toward promoting border tourism.
Chief minister Pema Khandu announced on X that this decision marks is a major step toward promoting border tourism and honouring Arunachal's unique geographical pride. "The festival will showcase natural beauty, heritage and tourism potential of Anjaw," he stated.
The festival to be held for minimum five days around new year will be a curated, self-sustaining cultural festival managed by professionals, with full state government support for infrastructure development, he added.
