Sara Gurpal, who shot to fame with her participation in Bigg Boss 14 as a contestant, left everyone in shock by confessing about being cheated by the people in the Punjabi film industry. She shared a note on Instagram in which the Punjabi actress asked people for advice. In an exclusive interview with Times Now/Telly Talk India, Sara Gurpal exposed the Punjabi film industry and recalled the dirty experience with a director.
Sara Gurpal’s BIG Revelation Sara Gurpal told us, “I am very frustrated and disappointed with the overall work culture in the Punjabi film industry. Since a couple of days, I have been feeling frustrated. I was offered a Punjabi film. I agreed to it, but on the day of the shoot, I got to know the role that was offered to me was completely different. This has been happening in this industry for years.” Also Read : Sara Gurpal further stated that there is a groupism in the Punjabi film industry. The Bigg Boss 14 fame said, “I have been working in the Punjabi film industry for 10 years now. Still, I didn’t get the respect in my own industry, which I usually get in Mumbai. They cast people on the basis of their followers. They also used my fame after Bigg Boss. But nothing got materialised.” “Apart from that, there are a lot of groups who only work with the same actors. I don’t want to take names, but the Punjabi industry is not welcoming to the talent. They are just people who can act as well as sing. Actresses like Shehnaaz Gill, Himanshi Khurana and others get opportunities in Bollywood, but they still struggle to get projects in Punjabi. I respect my industry, but the people here don’t respect a person who can take a stand for himself/herself. They don’t take auditions of aspiring actors. There are 3 to 4 brands in the Punjabi film industry. The production houses continue working with the same artists for years. They don’t give a chance to girls from small towns. I don’t want to say anything against Sonam Bajwa or other big actresses. There is no audition culture. I have worked in 5 films in the past 10 years. I did one film, but it didn’t get released because the leading actor is not a singer. They prefer singers than actors,” Sara Gurpal added. Sara Gurpal opens up about dirty experience with director Sara Gurpal confessed that the Punjabi film industry has been growing rapidly. It is musically strong. The actress said, “Things are getting worse here. Many people ask aspiring girls to sleep with them for the sake of role. I have gotten three to four indecent proposals from various biggies from the Punjabi film industry. When I was 18, one 47-year-old director asked me to come into his hotel room at 8:30 pm. I told me, ‘I have a room booked in the hotel.' I was cast in his film. But I refused to do it because he called me into his room. I blocked that person. Aurat ka mind aur emotions kabhi change nahi ho sakte. They use girls like coins.” Also Read : Sara Gurpal bonded really well with Rubina Dilaik and Abhinav Shukla in Bigg Boss 14. She is still in touch with them. Sara called them ‘gems’. While concluding the chat, Sara Gurpal said, “I got a lot of respect in Mumbai. I just feel the Punjabi film industry does the same for actresses.” Sara Gurpal’s statements must have left everyone in shock. What is your take on it?
