NewJeans' Hanni Tears Up As She Calls Out Bang Si-Hyuk And ADOR's New CEO At National Assembly Audit: HYBE Hates Us...

NewJeans' Hanni appeared at a National Assembly to speak at an audit about workplace harassment on October 15. The singer not only addressed the incident involving ILLIT's manager, but also brought up other issues NewJeans have faced at HYBE.

Hanni calls out HYBE, Bang Si-hyuk and ADOR's new CEODuring the audit, Hanni teared up as she talked about the mistreatment and workplace harassment faced by the members of NewJeans. "There was a certain type of atmosphere at the company (HYBE). It’s hard to say anything, and only people that have been affected could feel it," the singer said, before adding, "Then, I saw employees badmouthing NewJeans on the Blind app. I also saw the PR director trying to lower our Japanese debut score. Seeing that, I came to the realisation that this wasn’t just a feeling, and I was convinced that the company hates us." Hanni also went on to state that it wasn't just ILLIT's manager that ignored her greetings. "Since debut, I greeted staff and supervisors, but they didn't respond. I thought it was due to being a foreigner or cultural difference, but I later realized that ignoring greetings is disrespectful, regardless of status," she shared, before calling out HYBE's founder Bang Si-hyuk for also ignoring her. "Chairman Bang Si-hyuk never accepted my greetings. I think he is a rude person," Hanni said. "I'm sorry, but I don't think you did everything you could. You said you would protect us in the first place, but you didn't have the will to protect us or the ability to take action," the K-pop star asserted. The ongoing conflict between HYBE and former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin was brought up during the hearing. Hanni commented, "I feel like HYBE is trying to bring us down because we’re doing well. I think they did this because they dislike us. I can’t say that this incident didn’t happen due to a conflict between the two sides." ALSO READ: In her concluding statement, Hanni expressed gratitude towards her fans and politely asked them to stop apologising for NewJeans' current situation. "The ones who should be apologizing are avoiding responsibility, and that frustrates me," she said. Hanni at the National Assembly Hanni was one among the 35 individuals who had been selected by the National Assembly's Environment and Labour Committee for an audit about workplace harassment. The NewJeans member was brought on as a reference after she revealed that the manager of another HYBE group had instructed the members to ignore her in the workplace.
