Noted writer, director and actor Real star Upendra, who is known for directing out-of-the-box films, shared that his upcoming directorial venture UI will provoke the audience to think on a deeper level.“We recently witnessed a mythological based Kalki in Kalki 2898 AD. In UI, it will be a logical and psychological Kalki,” said Upendra.

Direction is challengingSpeaking to the media persons on the occasion his birthday today, September 18, actor-director shared some insights about his much-awaited directorial venture UI, made under Lahari Films and Venus Enterrtainers banner.“Many ask me as to why I do not direct films on a regular basis. I am ready to marry for another five to six times, but direction is more dangerous,” Upendra said on a lighter note.He further attributes the reason behind time taken to direct and make a film is due to the change in making style and adapting to newer technologies and various other challenges of modern cinema including production values. It is good that a producer has great taste in films,” Upendra adds.Meanwhile, Naveen Manoharan shared that Upendra is one of the first actors in Indian cinema to be scanned by more than 250 cameras. “We have used the scanned images of Upendra in few action sequences in the film. However, the brain of Upendra cannot be scanned and for that audience should watch the UI as it is one of the finest visuals in Indian cinema,” he added.
