Naam Japo- Chant God's NameShri Guru Nanak Dev emphasized chanting God's name to gain control over five evils- Kama (Lust), Krodh (Anger), Lobh (Greed), Moh (Attachment), Ahankar (Ego). He asked devotees to recite and chant God’s name—Waheguru. The Sikhs are to recite the Nitnem banis daily in remembrance of the grace and kripa of the Almighty. 2. Kirat Karo- Engage in honest workShri Guru Nanak Dev ji always taught that you should not exploit others to enjoy your happiness. He has always asked to honestly earn, with hard work, while accepting God's gifts and blessings. One is to speak the truth at all times. Live a life of decency, high moral values, and spirituality. 3. Vand Chakko- Provide selfless serviceShri Guru Nanak always preached that we should always share what we have, and always help others. The community or Sadh Sangat is an important part of Sikhism. One must be part of a community that is pursuing the values set out by the Sikh Gurus and every Sikh has to give in whatever way possible to the community. This spirit of Giving is an important message from Guru Nanak 4. Sarbat Daa Bhalaa- Ask Lord For Everyone's HappinessShri Guru Nanak Ji said that we should ask for everyone's happiness despite of their religion, caste, and gender. Everyone should seek well for others and only then one can have that goodness back in return. You may also like
