Donald Trump Claims Tim Walz Once Called Him: 'They're Going To Attack Me'

Former president Donald Trump appeared on 'Gutfled', the weekly satirical show of Fox News, and shared an anecdote of a call with Governor Tim Walz of Minnesota during the 2020 Black Lives Matter protests in Minnesota when Trump was the president. The 78-year-old said that during the protests in Minnesota after the murder of a black man, George Floyd, by a white police officer, Walz had called Trump at the White House. Trump claimed that a group of MAGA supporters with American flags had surrounded Walz's Minnesota home and he called the then-president seeking help. "You know, he called up years ago," Trump said. "I was in the White House, and he said, my house is being surrounded by people with American flags," "I said, is that a good thing or a bad thing? He said, I think they're going to attack me. This was during the riots and everything else. They were MAGA people. Trump continued: "I said, how do you know? There were about 15,000, he said. He said, could you put out a word like that I'm your friend? I don't even know him. But that's the only time I ever spoke to him." Trump said he eventually issued a statement to prevent Walz from getting hurt, after which the crowd dispersed, which, Trump said, the governor described as a "miracle."

Trump Discussed Debate Performance On 'Gutfeld'Trump also spoke about the debate with his rival, Vice President Kamala Harris. He reiterated claims that ABC News, the hosts of the debate, did not fact-check Harris even once, but did so with him several times. Despite polls showing that Harris was considered the winner of the debate, Trump claimed that the audience "went crazy" for him after the debate. “They didn’t correct her once. And they corrected me, everything I said, practically. I think nine times or 11 times,” he said to host Greg Gutfeld. “And the audience was absolutely– they went crazy.”
