The Delhi Jal Board (DJB) has informed Delhiites that a pipeline connecting to a booster pumping station at the Deer Park in Hauz Khas will not provide water for two days. Authorities are planning to install a flowmeter at the outlet line of a 500mm diameter water pipeline. Therefore, residents will have to manage water usage for the next two days in the area. .Areas that will be affected by the planned water supply cut will be Safdarjung Enclave, Hauz Khas, Green Park, All India Institute Of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Delhi, parts of Mehrauli, IIT campus, and other areas adjoining the Deer Park station, reported Times of India. These areas will stop receiving water from the evening of September 18 till the next morning. The water board provides around 27 lakh customers across Delhi.Delhi water board installs electromagnetic flowmeters at the outlets of water treatment plants and at the inlets of underground reservoirs and pumping stations. With its help, the DJB monitors the water supply in real-help. This helps the authorities in taking measures in case of any discrepancies.
