Atlanta Radio Legend Wanda Smith Dies, Tributes Pour In

Comedian and radio broadcaster Wanda Smith reportedly recently passed away. She rose to fame while employed at Atlanta's V-103 radio station. Frank and Wanda in the Morning was a show she presented. She starred in movies such as Madea's Witness Protection and Madea Goes to Jail. She founded Girls Stand Together, a nonprofit that promotes female empowerment. Katt Williams reported in 2018 that outside the Atlanta Comedy Theater, her spouse had brandished a pistol at him.Tributes have poured in over Facebook and other social media sites like X (formerly Twitter). Tony Luewellyn called her a sister and wrote that her death was a tough one for him.

Toshia Tiller called Wanda a sister and wrote, 'You will truly be missed and I know heaven gained an Angel.'

Loni Love, a colleague of Wanda's called her a 'great entertainer,' and she wrote, 'She was a staple in the Atlanta area and we came up in comedy together.'
