Thierry Henry accused of 'strange and awkward' behaviour as interview footage emerges

Thierry Henry has come under fire as a result of his strange behaviour in the aftermath of Liverpool's victory over AC Milan in the Champions League. The Reds came from behind to win thanks to goals from Ibrahima Konate, Virgil van Dijk and Dominik Szoboszlai.

Christian Pulisic, who scored the opener for Milan, appeared on CBS Sports for a post-match interview but Henry was not keen on chipping in. When the pundits were invited to ask questions, the Frenchman flatly declined and refused to meet Pulisic's gaze.

It was met with an awkward silence before fellow pundit Micah Richards broke the tension with a nervous laugh. Kate Abdo, who was hosting, then concluded the interview with Pulisic looking visibly confused by Henry's behaviour.

The bizarre incident caught the attention of many fans on X, formerly Twitter, with some digging out Henry after he refused to speak to Pulisic for what seemed like no reason.

@USACFC_ shared a clip of the unusual exchange alongside the caption: "Just flat weird behaviour from Thierry Henry during this Pulisic interview. Strange and awkward." @TNFT95 added: "Arrogant is what it is, in my opinion."

@sayyadjunaid wrote: "No one wants to call Titi out because he is a legend but sometimes he's an emotional jit sometimes. This was not cool at all. Pulisic isn't the first person he had done this to."

@the_realgrande offered a similar view, posting: "What the heck? Almost seemed like he didn't want to even make eye contact with him or the screen the whole time."

Others suggested that Henry might have been annoyed with his fellow pundits, who repeatedly asked Pulisic about the United States national team rather than the match they had just witnessed.

@GeorginioGod said: "I'll be honest, I think Thierry was getting really frustrated with them asking Pulisic all these questions about the national team after they just got dog walked by Liverpool."

Meanwhile, @g_rant_wilson wrote: "I think he realised how awkward the whole interview was. They're asking all these national team questions when his club got thumped. Pulisic seemed annoyed. Thierry seemed embarrassed by the rest of the crew."

Henry is a regular member of the CBS Sports panel alongside Abdo, Richards and former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher. Their show has been a massive hit in the United States and across the world, with fans loving the effortless chemistry between the four presenters.
