Meghan Markle was reportedly in full 'networking' mode at Kris Jenner's star-studded 70th birthday bash, according to insiders.
The Duchess of Sussex, accompanied by her husband Prince Harry, attended the lavish celebration for Kris Jenner, hosted by Amazon tycoon Jeff Bezos and his wife Lauren Sanchez at their £125 million Beverly Hills mansion.
The Royal couple, dressed in black tie, rubbed shoulders with a host of celebrities including Beyonce and Jay Z, Martha Stewart, Mariah Carey, Oprah Winfrey, Paris Hilton, Adele, and all the Kardashians.
While it may have appeared as just another celebrity birthday party, Meghan is said to have been 'schmoozing power players' at the event, an insider revealed.
Meghan's 'networking mode'A source told Page Six: "She was definitely in networking mode. She schmoozed with a lot of power players."
They further described Meghan's demeanour as "cool.", reports the Express US.
However, despite her apparent networking efforts, it seems Meghan and Harry were 'snubbed' by other celebrities who refrained from sharing any snaps or moments from the party on social media.
Kris Jenner has been seen sharing photos with Jeff Bezos and his wife Lauren Sanchez, as well as Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys, and Chris Rock.
Other pictures showed her posing with Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan, singer Ciara, Paris Hilton, and Meghan Trainor, but there were none featuring Harry and Meghan.
Branding and publicity expert Chad Teixeira told the Daily Mail: "In the world of celebrity PR, silence and omission can be just as calculated as a post, and the silence from Kris Jenner speaks volumes here.
"In Hollywood, being seen with someone is often as important as being seen at all, and it could feel like a sign of how Kris feels towards them."
He further commented: "Kris Jenner's decision not to post them could simply be that they didn't share many moments together, but it's more likely a considered decision and not posting speaks louder than any caption ever could."
The Duke and Duchess's presence at the party has also sparked controversy, with a Royal family insider labelling it as "tacky."
A palace insider told Page Six: "It's so tacky."
They continued: "It truly shows that Harry is so far removed from the rest of the family. These people may be stars in America, but the pure ostentatiousness is at odds with what Prince William is trying to do with his life and the monarchy."
