is still frosty with her daughter-in-law , according to reports - and now Nicola has published a cryptic update about parental relationships. She shared a post previously written by Harvard-educated child psychotherapist Lara Jalloul, which read: "I would choose my mom to be my mom in every lifetime, again and again and again."
It's no secret that Nicola has always enjoyed a close relationship with her mother, the former fashion model and philanthropist Claudia Heffner, who has been married to her billionaire investor dad Nelson for almost four decades. In fact, she once revealed that her parents' public displays of affection shaped the touchy-feely relationship she enjoys with today. However, her latest cryptic post comes after reports were made that on Nicola's wedding night that had been meant for her to have with her new husband.
The claim, which was made this week to magazine, is another example of the alleged frostiness that has built up, affecting Nicola's ability to see Victoria as her mum-in-law.
The source alleged: "Marc Anthony, who is a friend of the Beckhams, offered to perform as a gift at the wedding.
"Before the song began, Marc Anthony asked Brooklyn to come to the stage, and then announced, 'The most beautiful woman in the room tonight, come on up... Victoria Beckham!'"
While Nicola might not have taken kindly to hearing the claim that another woman was more beautiful than her on her wedding night, another source told the aforementioned publication a slightly different story.
They suggested that Nicola and Brooklyn had taken the "formal first dance" earlier in the evening, and that Nicola had also danced with her dad Nelson, before Marc Anthony invited Victoria to the dancefloor with her son.
Rumours of a feud began before that date, when Nicola chose to walk down the aisle in a Valentino Haute Couture dress.
Many had expected that, as her mum-in-law is a fashion designer and entrepreneur, she would be wearing a Victoria Beckham-branded creation - and when she didn't, followers feared all was not well.
Meanwhile, Brooklyn and Nicola flew into London from the USA, where they live, on the same day as 's big birthday bash in the capital, but chose not to attend.
Express Online has previously contacted Victoria Beckham for comment.
