As the nights draw in and the frost sets in, we're all on the hunt for a plethora of Netflix shows to binge-watch. Fortunately, the streaming giant has been rolling out a series of fantastic programmes recently.
One that has particularly piqued the interest of Netflix viewers is a 'twisted' thriller set to premiere this week, boasting an impressive cast.
The Beast in Me revolves around renowned author Aggie Wiggs, who has retreated from public life following the heartbreaking loss of her young son. Unable to pen any new work and a mere shadow of her former self, she stumbles upon an unlikely subject for her next book when the house next door is purchased by the infamous and intimidating property tycoon Nile Jarvis, previously a prime suspect in his wife's vanishing.
Simultaneously repulsed and intrigued by this man, she finds herself delving into the truth and pursuing his secrets while attempting to outrun her own in a potentially lethal game of cat and mouse.
The star-studded cast includes Claire Danes and Matthew Rhys in leading roles, alongside Brittany Snow and Natalie Morales. Many are particularly thrilled to see Homeland star Claire back in action.
One enthusiast took to the internet as the trailer was unveiled, writing: "Claire Danes THE FACE with a million emotions - count me in! I can see this will be quite the journey. Matthew Rhys and Brittany Snow are a great bonus. Can't wait."
Another remarked: "NOBODY can cry like Claire Danes," whilst a third commented: "Even looking at her face takes me back 10 years to a different time when I was happier, more hopeful and life was still exciting."
A fourth declared: "I will watch ANYTHING with Claire Danes in it and this is COMING OUT ON MY BIRTHDAY."
Meanwhile, a fifth stated: "Claire is such an amazing actor, truly."
Throughout her distinguished career, Danes, 46, has collected three Primetime Emmy Awards and four Golden Globe Awards.
Her breakthrough came in 1994 with teen drama series My So-Called Life, securing a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress - Television Series Drama and earning a nomination for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.
The same year marked her film debut in Little Women (1994), before achieving broader recognition starring in the romantic drama Romeo + Juliet (1996).
Her subsequent filmography includes The Rainmaker (1997), Brokedown Palace (1999), The Hours (2002), Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (2003), Shopgirl (2005), and Stardust (2007). She also graced Broadway in 2007, portraying Eliza Doolittle in a revival of Pygmalion.
Additionally, her portrayal of the title role in the 2010 HBO film Temple Grandin earned her both the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie and the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress - Miniseries or Television Film. From 2011 to 2020, she took on the role of Carrie Mathison in the Showtime drama series Homeland.
