M6 crash LIVE: Major motorway closed in both directions after huge pile up

Chaos has broken out on the M6 following a multi-vehicle collision on Monday morning.

Emergency services are at the scene of the crash, which was reported to police between junctions 32 and 33 of the southbound carriageway at around 10:27am.

Police have warned that the motorway and A6 junction will remain shut "for some time" as investigations are carried out.

Authorities have not confirmed the number of casualties or injuries caused by the incident but several people are reportedly being treated by ambulance workers.
