Jose Mourinho has launched an amazing attack on alleged corruption in Turkish football by claiming: "We are playing against the system. It smells bad".

And the former Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham head coach cast doubt over his future at Fenerbahce by stating he would not have joined the club if he had known about the refereeing standards.

Mourinho, 61, erupted after former United midfielder Sofyan Amrabat netted a 102nd-minute winner atTrabzonspor.

The Portuguese coach was still furious that the home team had been awarded two penalties through VAR while Fenerbahce were denied their own spot-kick.

Mourinho has a history of seeing conspiracies against his teams from his spells at Inter Milan and Real Madrid.

And before last week's Europa League tie with Manchester United when he suggested he should get a bonus for winning the Premier League if Manchester City are stripped of their 217-18 title. He was then sent off during the 1-1 draw.

But his eight-minute post-match rant against referee Oguzhan Cakir and VAR official Atilla Karaoglan was extraordinary even by his standards.

"We are playing against our opponents and against the system!" he raged. "That is the toughest opponent. Man of the Match was Atilla Karaoglan! It was a clear penalty for us and he didn't give it. There are only two explanations for that. He was sleeping or he was drinking tea!"

"The referee was just a little boy that was there on the pitch, but the referee was Atilla Karaoglan.

"I think I am speaking on behalf of every Fenerbahce fan - we don't want him again.

"We don't want him as a VAR. It smells bad. We don't want him on the pitch but, on the VAR, even less."

Former Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko added: "If the VAR intervenes, then it should intervene equally on both sides. The VAR probably took three or four toilet breaks."

Mourinho joined Fenerbahce in June with the mission to win the Super Lig title for the first time in a decade and his side are up to second place behind reigning champions Galatasaray.

But he claimed he is shocked by the officiating in Turkey.

"You Turkish people, you should talk about it," he told beIN Sports. "You should say what happens every year. I blame the Fenerbahce people that brought me here. They told me only half of the truth. They didn't tell me the whole truth because if they told me the whole truth, I wouldn't come.

"Who wants to watch the Turkish league abroad? In London only my son watches the Turkish league. I started watching it when I was invited to come to Turkey. I couldn't believe that this was the dimension. It's too grey, it's too dark. But that's my job. I will give everything for my job, for my club."
