The Diddly Squat Farm shop is the proud brainchild of TV presenter Jeremy Clarkson and his partner Lisa Hogan. He opened the store to the public in 2020 and, in his Prime Video docuseries Clarkson's Farm, let fans into the process. The farm shop is situated on his 1,000-acre Diddly Squat Farm in Oxfordshire, and thanks to the show, thousands of fans travel from across the world to sample some of its homegrown goods. Although most products are available to purchase online, fans enjoy visiting the shop, which regularly appears on screen as part of the Clarkson's Farm experience.
While many have shared their encounters online, one employee at the farm shop has opened up about what it's truly like. Taking to the shop's official Instagram page, James gave its 2.6 million followers a fresh insight into being the Chief Chilli Officer. While visitors queued awaiting entry into the shop, the employee gave a tour from the outside and highlighted what chillies were available to purchase. James stated: "Our chillies, as promised, have made it up to Diddly Squat Farm shop."
As he added, "We've got a few varieties here." James walked across the display and commented: "These orange ones here, they look like scotch bonnets. They're habaneros, which are about 300,000 on the Scoville scale, also pretty damn hot.
Speaking on another chilli, James continued: "We've got big red ones here, these are called Serenades. These ones are milder."
Moving on to another one up for offer, the employee shared: "Here we've got two punnets for brave people, of Carolina Reapers."
James revealed: "These are upwards of a million on the Scoville," and remarked: "Get your milk ready for some of those.
"And then some more here, this will probably be our last harvest because the chilli season ends in about a month or so, so if you want any of these chillis, get at Diddly Squat Farm Shop."
The Diddly Squat Farm shop was established after Jeremy discovered the land grew potatoes well and accidentally produced 40 tonnes of them.
From there, he and Lisa bought hives and began producing and selling bee juice, apple juice, and cow juice from a local dairy.
As well as the Diddly Squat Farm, the former Top Gear star expanded his empire across the Cotswolds with the Farmer's Dog pub, which was the focal point for the fourth series of his show, although some viewers initially questioned its connection to the farm.
As a result of his TV career, which includes Prime Video's The Grand Tour with James May and Richard Hammond, Jeremy is said to have an eye-watering net worth of £59 million.
According to Celebrity Net Worths, the 65-year-old's earnings have skyrocketed in addition to his annual television salary of an estimated £3 million when he took on the presenting gig for Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?
