Hollywood actress Selma Blair issues health update after multiple sclerosis diagnosis

Cruel Intentions actress Selma Blair revealed she's "doing amazingly well," in a significant health update almost seven years after being diagnosed with . The star went public about the autoimmune disease in 2018 and has been in remission since 2021.

In a fresh interview with , Selma shared that she is "truly in remission," after going . "I am doing amazingly well. I've been feeling great for about a year," she said, while attending the Daily Front Row's ninth annual Fashion Los Angeles Awards. "But I am finally well enough to really, genuinely ... I always try and feel my best, but now that I actually have stamina and energy and getting out and going out isn't so scary."

When asked about her hopes for the future, Selma shared: "It's funny, I haven't spent enough time having dreams. And now it's like, what are my dreams?

"I think maybe since the diagnosis, you're just tired all the time. I spent so much of my life so tired from being unwell that I think I just was trying to get through the day."

The actress continued: "And now it's like, wait, I realise I don't know what my goals are."

In June last year, Selma opened up about being in remission and revealed: "I just had an MRI last week. No news is good news. I did a transplant, and it was amazing to have the bone marrow transplant."

, multiple sclerosis is an incurable condition that affects the brain and spinal cord, and can mainly be managed with treatment.

Common symptoms include "fatigue, numbness, feeling off balance, muscle cramps, problems with memory or concentration."

In 2023, Selma confessed to Self that remission hasn't been all it was made up to be: "It haunts my physical cells. It's there.

"Some people wake up two years later and they're like, 'I'm healed! Colours are brighter!' But I never had that moment. I just stopped having regression."
