GB News have lashed out at the for "bullying" when she appeared on Have I Got News For You earlier in the week. During her appearance, one particular exchange saw Dame Andrea come under fire from fellow panellist Ian Hislop after she praised former prime minister .
The audience responded with boos, to which Jenkyns hit back by accusing the of "selecting the audience". Hislop immediately shut down the claim, saying: "You can't just say 'you've selected the audience', you've got no evidence for that, no proof, it's just b*****ks... This isn't GB News."
Following the show, while appearing on GB News chatting to presenter Mark Dolan, Ms Jenkyns admitted that she knew she was . The former MP explained that when entering the studio, where the audience were waiting for their entrances, the panellists entered one by one.
She said that all of the others were met with cheers, whereas she was met with boos. Andrea said: "I walked in to lots of boos so I thought 'oh God, here we go'."
Mark was absolutely shocked as he asked: "Wait a minute, so you were booed when you went onto the stage? Before you said anything?" Andrea laughed as she said "you expect this" before adding that she was also booed on other shows, such as Question Time.
The GB News host exlaimed: "Well that wasn't very kind. That was all the evidence you needed that this was a left-wing audience." He went on to describe Have I Got News as a "bear pit".
Tory MP, Andrea, shared that she "did try to give as good as she got" but the filming was edited down from just over three hours to the final 30 minute show.
Mark bashed the as he said: "That's the problem with that show, you don't have control. I would only do it if it was live because of the editors and their agenda." He added that Have I Got News' treatment of Andrea was "borderline bullying" as he asked her how she felt.
Andrea replied: "I'm not a snowflake, Mark. It's a satire show, you're going to take the mick out of each other." She explained that she went a little bit quiet to try and compose herself a few times but "being a Northerner" she "won't have anything beating her".
Following the GB News interview, the broadcasters shared a post to social media asking: "Should the apologise for Have I Got News for You's treatment of Dame Andrea Jenkyns?"
Fans agreed that Andrea was treated terribly, with one writing: "This was one of the most disgraceful things I have ever seen." Another added: "Andrea suggested that the audience was selected. Ironically, the entire 'unbiased' audience applauded Hislop who said her comment was bollocks. Let the nation see the for what it truly is."
A third posted: "They were so rude & those two asss were so smug, yes absolutely they should apologize, they think they are above everyone else."
But others thought the did nothing wrong as one said: "No because going on is a lame attempt to become a celebrity- so if not actually funny don't do it". Someone else added: "No, they just did what 'comedians' do. She was foolish to go on the show."
