First look at new Netflix medical series set to rival 24 Hours in A&E

Netflix is set to air a gripping new medical documentary series that is poised to rival the long-running favourite, 24 Hours in A&E.

Titled Critical: Between Life and Death, the show will premiere next month and offer viewers a behind the scenes look inside London's trauma units. With unprecedented access, the documentary will follow the heroic NHS staff as they battle against the clock to save lives.

The documentary will also shed light on the personal and emotional motivations that drive them in this intense and often traumatic field. By deploying 40 cameras across the London Major Trauma System for 21 days, the makers of 24 Hours in A&E will follow staff from critical emergencies to the operating room.

The series will feature a variety of incidents, including a fairground ride malfunctioning in Brockwell Park resulting in multiple critically injured patients, triggering a response from London's Major Trauma System, and a life-threatening head injury following an assault.

Audiences will witness first-hand action from a polytrauma patient, considered the most severe level of injury, and teams collaborating to mitigate the worst outcomes following a motorcycle accident.
