Former President campaign has revealed that the Republican candidate will be dipping his toes into the world of fast food, taking on a shift at McDonald's in a direct snub to his rival.
The campaign disclosed that Trump will be operating the fryer during a scheduled campaign visit in Philadelphia on Sunday, as reported by CNN. The former president has been dropping hints about this for weeks, continually poking fun at Vice President time as a McDonalds employee during her university years.
"Do you know what I am doing next week? I am going to a to work!" he announced to a gathering of supporters in Nevada on Oct. 10.
In a conversation with MSNBC's Stephanie Ruhle, Harris responded to Trump's taunts, stating: "Part of the reason I even talk about having worked at McDonald's is because there are people who work at McDonald's in our country who are trying to raise a family," she said. "I worked there as a student."
Discussing the economy, Ruhle pointed out that polls still suggest voters believe former President Donald Trump would manage the economy better. Harris countered that her background gives her more in common with the average American than Trump, according to Mirror US, reports .
She stressed that she was employed at McDonalds during her university years. But Trump has consistently alleged on the campaign trail that Harris is making up her fast food experience.
Donald Trump made a bold claim at an Indiana rally in September, asserting: "But she said she worked, and grew up in terrible conditions, she worked at McDonald's, it was such-SHE NEVER WORKED THERE!"
On CNN's The Source with Kaitlan Collins, when probed about Trump's charge that Vice President Harris fabricated her McDonald's employment history and the notion of Trump himself working at McDonald's, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders retorted: "For Donald Trump to accuse anybody of lying is nothing less than laughable," adding, "What can you say this guy lies every single day and it's not just stretching the truth, it's making propitious lies."
The Daily Beast received confirmation from the Harris campaign that, indeed, the Vice President did spend her summer of 1983 working at the McDonald's in Alameda, California, while attending college.
Trump campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung challenged the narrative to the Daily Beast, questioning: "Why won't they just provide real documentation and proof? The onus is on them. What does she have to hide?"
