Celebrity Traitors star Tom Daley has shared that his son was left in tears when he was 'murdered' on the popular BBC programme.
The Olympic diving champion, who was a Faithful on the current series of the gripping TV show hosted by Claudia Winkleman, became an early casualty of Traitors Alan Carr, Jonathan Ross and Cat Burns. They quickly decided to eliminate him, believing he would be a formidable opponent in the competition.
Tom has two sons with his husband Dustin Lance Black - Robbie, born in 2018, and Phoenix, born in 2023. Speaking on The One Show on Tuesday (October 28), he confessed that his departure from Celebrity Traitors had his eldest son in tears, reports Wales Online.
"I've been watching it with my husband and my oldest son," he said. "And what was really sad was when, like, I got, you know, murdered, he started crying 'Oh, my papa.'
"And I was like, 'Robbie, I'm here, you're fine.' And then he was like, 'OK, because I wanted you to win.' And he's like, 'I hate the Traitors'."
Tom also revealed: "Well, you know, I did want to be a Traitor."
During his stint in the castle, Tom made headlines when he was seen giving fellow contestant Kate Garraway a serious side-eye over her reaction to Paloma Faith's murder.
Good Morning Britain's Kate expressed she was "flabbergasted", and Tom thought it was slightly exaggerated, fuelling his suspicion that she might actually be a Traitor.
His eye roll sparked a flurry of comments from viewers, but the star maintained he was oblivious to its potential impact.
"I didn't even realise that I was doing that much of a side eye," he admitted.
Tom continued: "I didn't even realise that it was going to be a thing because I was in LA and then I was getting all these texts of like, 'That side eye', 'That...' I was like, 'What side eye?'"
"And then before I knew it, I was like, 'OK, I guess flabbergasted and the side eye is a thing.'"
Celebrity Traitors airs on BBC One.
