BBC Strictly pro shares behind-the-scenes show detail fans have 'always wanted to know'

Strictly Come Dancing pro, Aljaz Skorjanec, has shared a sweet behind-the-scenes video from his dance with Tasha Ghouri on Saturday night.

Over the weekend, Tasha, 26, and Aljaz, 34, delivered a touching tribute to P!nk with a couple's choice routine to the anthem What About Us during the show's icon theme week.

Before hitting the dance floor, an emotional Tasha opened up in a pre-dance clip about the deep personal meaning behind her song choice and the upcoming performance. Following her compelling dance, Tasha was overjoyed to find out she had scored a whopping 39 points from the judges.

Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, Aljaz shared a sweet behind-the-scenes video showing the moment he walks onto the dance floor with Tasha, which took place while the VT was playing for viewers at home.

He captioned the post with: "When dancing with someone feels effortless even the math rules can't explain it... 1+1=1. Thank you beautiful people for all the love! So, so so many messages that make me so happy and proud @tashaghouri lets QUICKSTEP."

Viewers were quick to react to the post with many Strictly fans intrigued to see how the show works behind-the-scenes while VTs are playing on screen.

One person said: "Such a great video I've always wanted to know what happens in the studio when the VT is being shown. What an emotional dance" to which another account replied: "I was lucky enough to go 2 years ago. It's an amazing experience, and to see how it all works is incredible. A bonus when the dancers come into the audience afterwards for a chat!"

It comes as Tasha moved audiences to tears on Saturday's show as she became visibly emotional during a VT prior to her emotional routine. The ex-Love Island contestant revealed: "This song is about feeling not seen or unheard. I was born completely deaf in both ears, and my parents found out when I was about 12 months old.

"Being born into a hearing family was definitely difficult, they're the ones who had to really adapt their lifestyle around me, they started learning sign language which was beautiful", adding that they took her to dance classes from an early age where she was able to "let go" and "just be Tasha".

The Strictly star continued: "Two years ago, I went on a reality TV show, I was the first contestant with a cochlear implant and I really wanted to go on to show that even though I had a disability, I could still find love.

"When I left the show, I remember my dad sat me down and he looked at me, straight, and said Tasha there's a lot of horrific stuff that was written about you, especially on social media. There were videos made about my voice, the way I speak, it became a trend at one point."

Tasha then broke down in tears as she added: "It really hit me hard as I wanted to go on for representation and I felt like I failed not just myself but the whole deaf community."

She powerfully continued: "I said you know what, I'm not gonna let them get me down, I'm going to use my platform and educate people."
