Many of us are very fussy when it comes to how we like our bacon - with crispy being a particular popular option at breakfast time.

If that's the case for you, a foodie claims she has a "hack" that will ensure your rashers come out "perfect" with "zero mess". Casey Davis took to TikTok to reveal her method, explaining that you will need an additional 45p ingredient to copy her creation.

She began her video by laying several streaky rashers down on tin foil, ready for the oven - not the frying pan. Next, Casey showcased her secret to success - all-purpose flour - which she lightly sprinkled evenly over the bacon.

With her oven pre-heated to 190°C (375°F), Casey stressed the importance of arranging the rashers so they don't overlap or crowd the tray. "Bake for 17-20 minutes, or until the bacon reaches your desired crispiness," she advised.

Casey's final step? "Carefully remove from the oven and transfer the bacon to a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess grease," she said, before showcasing the bacon's crispy crunch to showcase a job well done.

Casey added: "Flour is your best friend! Enjoy perfectly crispy bacon every time!"

While it may seem like a wild thing to add to your breakfast, it is actually a pretty traditional technique. And there's science behind it!

The flour absorbs some of the bacon's surface moisture and fat as it cooks, helping to create a crispier texture. The flour forms a thin, crunchy coating on the bacon, making each bite extra crispy.

What's more, the flour coating can promote more even browning by providing a uniform surface for the bacon to cook.

If you want to kick things up a notch, you can even try seasoning the flour. Bacon is already pretty salty, so you won't need that.

However, a few shakes of paprika or grinds of black pepper can make the rashers even more delicious.

The short clip has garnered more than 200 likes since it was posted - and people seemed to be grateful for the advice. One of her followers declared in response: "I need this!"

It's not the only bacon hack to go viral in recent months. Earlier this week, further bacon advice came from the surprising source of rapper, Snoop Dogg, who suggested you can make your bacon taste so much better if you do one simple thing before putting it in the pan.

Instead of peeling the bacon apart into individual slices and frying in a pan like most people would do, he recommends dumping all of it in to fry in one solid piece.
