Symptoms of Arthritis

If there is a history of arthritis in your family, then your risk also increases. Weight gain also increases the risk of this disease. Its symptoms include:

Pain and swelling in joints Stiffness in the morning Lack of flexibility Feeling of warmth in the joints

Ways to avoid arthritis

According to Dr. B S Murthy (Director and Senior Consultant Orthopaedics and Joint Replacement) at Dharmashila Narayana Superspeciality Hospital, New Delhi, some measures must be taken to avoid arthritis:

Watch your weight: It is extremely important to keep an eye on your weight. Being overweight increases pressure on joints, which can lead to pain and swelling.

Exercise: Do light exercises regularly, such as yoga, swimming, and walking. These help maintain the flexibility and strength of your joints.

Eat the right diet: Include foods rich in calcium, vitamin D and omega-3 fatty acids in your diet. These elements help in strengthening your bones and joints.

Do not sit in one position for a long time: Avoid sitting in the same position for a long time. Get up in between and do some stretching.

Consult a doctor: If the problem of arthritis has become severe, then the doctor can advise on options like joint replacement surgery.
