Bhindi contains soluble fiber and natural gum. In such a situation, eating it with curd, sour buttermilk or lemon-filled gravy can cause gas in the stomach. Therefore, while preparing bhindi, special care should be taken about which things should not be added to it.
Many people like to eat ladyfinger. This vegetable is easily found in everyone's homes in summer. It is a delicious vegetable full of excellent nutrients, which provides many health benefits. However, there are many people who like to eat ladyfinger, but after eating it they have to face many problems. Actually, it is important to take special care of some things while cooking ladyfinger. This vegetable is very beneficial for health, but if it is not cooked properly, then after eating it you may have acidity or gas problems.
In this sequence, Ayurvedic expert Dr. Kiran Gupta has told which things should not be consumed with ladyfinger even by mistake. So let's know about it.
Do not put these things in ladyfinger even by mistake
Urad dal: Bhindi is considered cold in nature while urad dal is hot in nature. The nature of both is opposite to each other, which puts pressure on the digestive system. This can cause problems like gas, flatulence and indigestion. Especially people who have digestive problems or who are elderly should avoid this combination.
Gram flour: Okra contains a natural gum-like substance which can be a bit heavy to digest. Gram flour is also a heavy and thick food item. When both of these are eaten together, it can increase stickiness and heaviness in the stomach. This can cause constipation or gas problems. Especially in summers, this combination can cause imbalance in the body.
Dry fruits: Dry fruits like almonds, cashews, pistachios etc. are energetic and have a hot nature. On the other hand, ladyfinger is a light and cold vegetable. Eating both of these together causes a clash of hot and cold energy in the body, which can affect the digestive process. Also, some people may have allergies or skin reactions to it.
Every food item has its own effect and digestion process. When we eat the wrong things together, their effect can be negative on the body. So try to eat bhindi with light and simple food. Do not mix things like urad dal, gram flour or nuts with bhindi. This habit will be beneficial for your digestion and overall health.
