Amid the ongoing tension in the Middle East, Iran's Foreign Minister has made a big statement. Abbas Araghchi has said that Iran is engaged in efforts to stop the war immediately. Iran's Foreign Minister has said in a conversation with Al-Jazeera that diplomatic channels are open with America through other countries and Iran is negotiating to stop the war immediately.

Iran, which till now used to talk about taking revenge on Israel, has suddenly changed its tone. The Iranian Foreign Minister, who is on a tour of many countries in the region including Saudi Arabia, had said before leaving for Saudi Arabia that he is trying to create a mass movement against Israel. Earlier, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei had appealed to Arab and Muslim countries to unite against Israel in a sermon given after Friday prayers last Friday. He had said that if needed, Iran would once again attack Israel.

Is Iran scared of the possibility of an Israeli attack?

In fact, on October 1, Iran attacked Israel with 200 ballistic missiles. After this attack, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has been constantly talking about taking revenge on Iran and making Israel pay for the attack. On Wednesday night itself, after a phone conversation with US President Biden, Netanyahu had said that if we do not fight, we will be killed. Regarding this statement of Netanyahu, it is believed that he has got the green signal from America to retaliate against Iran. In such a situation, the question arises whether the U-turn to stop the war by threatening to take revenge on Iran has come due to the fear of Israeli attack.

Iran had said that it had attacked Israel on October 1 for the killing of Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah in Beirut, and IRGC commander Nilforoushan. Iran had said that if Israel retaliates after this, it will launch an even bigger attack. But the latest statement of Iran's foreign minister indicates something else. It is clear that Iran, which is facing an economic crisis, does not want to increase tension with Israel at the moment, which is why it has been in touch with the US through other countries to stop Israel.
