WhatsApp Introduces 'Mention All' Feature for Group Chats: Tag Everyone with One Command

WhatsApp is rolling out an exciting new feature for group chats that allows users to mention all group members at once. Currently, users need to tag each person individually, but this update simplifies the process, making it easier to get everyone’s attention in a group conversation. The feature is currently available for Android beta testers.

What Is the ‘Mention All’ Feature?

With the new @all command, users can notify every member of a group chat simultaneously. Simply typing @all will alert all participants, ensuring no one misses important messages. The feature is being released gradually through the Google Play Store beta program and will reach all testers in the coming weeks.

Rules for Small and Large Groups

According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp has set limits based on group size:

• Small Groups: All members can use the @all command.

• Large Groups (32+ members): Only admins can use @all to prevent spam or repeated notifications. This limit may be updated in future releases.

Full Control Over Notifications

Users can manage notifications for @all mentions through the group info settings. Even if a user has muted a group, they can choose whether or not to receive @all alerts, giving them better control and reducing unnecessary distractions.
