Send Push

Police searching for missing Victoria Taylor have shared a new CCTV image of the popular mum in a shop, taken two hours after she was last seen.

Victoria Taylor, 34, was last seen at her home in Malton, North Yorkshire, on Monday morning around 9am. She has not contacted her family or friends in that time, sparking a huge search in the locality.

Now, in an update this afternoon, police have shared a CCTV image of Victoria from 11.35am on the day of her disappearance. Officers earlier said she was last seen wearing blue jeans and a black Adidas puffa jacket, which can be seen in the image.

Inspector Martin Dennison from North Yorkshire Police said: “We are very concerned about Victoria’s whereabouts and, like her family and friends, just want to see her safe and well.

"I would urge the public to be cautious if looking for Victoria near the river. Our officers have specialist training and equipment, and they are used to working in various terrains.

“If you do have any information which can help with the search then please call us 101. Any immediate sightings should be reported to 999.”

Police confirmed a number of personal possessions belonging to Victoria were found close to the River Derwent. Officers using kayaks were today seen searching the river for the mum who was last seen four days ago.

A spokesman added people in the local area could expect to see an "increased presence" of officers in the area. They added: "Operation Support Unit and local officers have carried out extensive searches along with support from a police underwater search unit. We have used drones to search the area from above, carried out multiple enquiries and reviewed hours of CCTV from around Malton where Victoria was last seen."

It comes as members of a 3,000 strong Facebook page plan called The search for Victoria Taylor to meet today to help look for the mum. One friend said: "Victoria worked at the care home where my Mum spent her final years.

"She was a real professional and I always felt my Mum (who was suffering from dementia) was 100% safe when Victoria was on shift.
"She is a truly lovely person and I pray she is found safe and well soon. My thoughts are with her family."
