The body of a missing 28-year-old man has been found - bringing an end to a massive search operation.
Humberside Police confirmed the body belonged to Jamie, aged just 28, who had beenreported missing last week after his last known sighting on June 17. Loved ones were drumming up volunteers for a search party on Facebook, which was due to take place today. It has now been cancelled. In a statement this morning, Humberside Police said: "Last night, Monday, 23 June, whilst conducting searches for missing 28-year-old Jamie, a man’s body was discovered not far from Poorhouse Lane, Hull.

"The body was recovered and whilst formal identification is yet to take place, we can confirm we do believe it to be that of missing Jamie from Hull who was last seen on Tuesday, 17 June.

"Specialist trained officers have updated Jamie’s family and are providing support.
"Our thoughts are with them and Jamie’s loved ones and friends at this incredibly sad time.
"A post-mortem examination will take place in the coming days. However at this time, there is not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.
"Due to previous police contact, a mandatory referral will be made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC)."
On the Facebook page, the organisers - including Jamie's partner Paige - wrote: "Please come join and get Jamie back with his family! This is a massive event and means so much to Jamie's loved ones!"
Paige previously told Hull Live the family is "besides themselves" and Jamie's daughters "can’t wait to have the biggest cuddle with their daddy."
This comes after a West Yorkshire police officer who had been reported missing has been found dead, the force has confirmed.
Charlie Mitchell, a 26-year-old patrol officer from Halifax, was reported missing from his home in Leeds on Saturday.
West Yorkshire Police said officers searching St Aidan’s Nature Reserve, near Leeds, found his body at around 5.30pm on Sunday.
His family have been informed and officers are providing support to his family.
Mr Mitchell’s death is not being treated as suspicious and the coroner has been informed, police confirmed.
Assistant Chief Constable Robert McCoubrey said: “Charlie’s death in these circumstances is absolutely tragic, and we offer our sincere condolences to his family and will be continuing to give them all the support we can at this very difficult time.
“His death has also come as a terrible shock to his colleagues in Calderdale District and the wider West Yorkshire Police family and we will be making sure that all necessary support is in place for everyone who worked with him or knew him.”
