If you're a fan of e-readers and reckon your current gadget is past its prime, today might be the perfect time to splash out on a new one. Amazon Prime Day 2025 is here, and Amazon has slashed prices on its top-of-the-range Kindle, the Amazon Scribe, in a deal that's even better than we'd anticipated.
The latest generation Amazon Kindle Scribe is now available for £267.99, a whopping £112 off its usual price of £379.99. According to price comparison site Camelcamelcamel, this is the lowest price the Scribe has ever been listed for on Amazon.
For those seeking a more budget-friendly option, Amazon is also offering discounts of up to 31% on several other models, including the Amazon Kindle Paperwhite, which is touted as the fastest ever Kindle, now reduced to £118.74 from £159.99.

The newest, second-generation Kindle Scribe, which was launched in December 2024, boasts a fresh design and updated software. With its 10.2-inch screen, it's the largest Kindle available - ideal if you prefer a larger display for reading.
But there's a reason for its size: the Scribe also functions as a notebook, allowing you to create your own E-Ink notebooks for personal or work purposes, reports the Express.
That's why the Scribe comes with a stylus pen included. Not only can you jot down notes, but you can also annotate e-books purchased from the Kindle Store. This feature is particularly handy if you enjoy making notes while reading for pleasure or research, and it's a real bonus if you're studying texts on your Kindle for school or university.
The Scribe'ssize isn't just about the screen. It boasts the best battery life of any Kindle, promising up to 12 weeks based on half an hour of reading per day, even with the backlight on. The Kindle is charged via USB-C, and while a cable is included in the box, there's no charger.
Amazon has recently updated the software on the Scribe, which you will receive for free. This includes AI-powered notebook summarisation, capable of distilling pages of handwritten notes into word-processed text summaries - perfect for breaking down meeting notes or capturing your long-term thoughts in a few paragraphs.
The update also allows you to jot down notes in the margins of e-books or write a sticky note to attach anywhere on the page, causing the words to flow around the note.
Amazon has confirmed that this deal will be available throughout Prime Day, from July 8 to July 11, but only while stocks last. To find out more about Amazon Prime Day sales and discounts, click here.
