Escape To The Country star Alistair Appleton was left embarrassed when a participant on his show bluntly rejected every property they were presented with on the show. has been helping home buyers find dream properties since it started airing in 2002.
But a recent episode saw the team fail one hopeful who was not impressed by any of the properties that were proposed. A woman named Lizzie turned to the show to help relocate her life so she could live closer to her family.
Lizzie had been living in London for 20 years but wanted to move back to Suffolk where her family live. Tragically, Lizzie's father had passed away 18 months before her property search had begun - with the sad event sparking her desire to relocate herself.
With a budget of £500,000, Lizzie was hoping to uncover a dream two-bedroom home but was left unimpressed by the suggestions of the team. Joined by her mum, Sue, the marketing manager was left in despair as show host Alistair failed to stump up the goods.
Things had looked up when Lizzie and her mum looked around a final property which had plenty of character and original features. But when Alistair asked if there were any red flags, his buyer did not hold back.

Lizzie said: "I think it's potentially the light, so might have to think about it, but that's part of the property really, isn't it." Alistair then fatefully asked: "Did we hit the nail on the head with any of our properties?"
But a deflated Lizzie could only reply: "I don't think you've quite hit the nail on the head."
She continued: "I think the third one was a really interesting property and it might be worth us going back and having a look at the village a little bit more...
"I think there has been a consistent theme with all three properties that the ground floor works slightly better than the second floor." She was then supported by her mum who also appeared less than impressed by the properties that they had been shown around.
Sue commented: "I think you probably need a lot more space upstairs than we've seen." And this prompted Lizzie to add: "But I think what has been really useful, I think you're helping me crystallise my thoughts.
"And I'm wondering whether actually going forward, it's about a small market town for me, or a slightly larger village and that's where I think the thoughts are starting to crystallise." Ultimately, the former Londoner did not go forth with a sale.
Alistair has been a host of the show since 2007 and has helped many other home hunters find dream properties - however this is not the only way the star helps other people. In the noughties, he retrained as a psychotherapist, which he described as "the best decision" of his life.
He told Great British Life in 2012: "I loved that work so much that I started to get a bit disenchanted with all the crazy schedules of TV filming and I decided five years ago to re-train as a psychotherapist. That was the best decision of my life and I think I've hit my 40s in much better shape than I hit my 30s."
