England owe another debt of gratitude to Chloe Kelly after her crucial strike secured the Lionesses' place in yet another Women's Euros final. Three years on from her memorable Wembley heroics that clinched Euro 2022, Kelly delivered when it mattered most during extra time of their semi-final showdown with Italy.
Although keeper Laura Giuliani managed to deny her 119th-minute spot-kick, Kelly refused to give up and buried the rebound. The goal capped off the fightback that Michelle Agyemang had sparked with a 96th-minute leveller to force extra-time.
The pair had also linked up as second-half replacements to overturn their side's two-goal disadvantage against Sweden in the quarter-finals, pushing the tie to a penalty shootout.

Kelly was one of three England stars - alongside Alessia Russo and Lucy Bronze - to convert from twelve yards, and despite her penalty miss against Italy, she mirrored her performance against Germany by finding the net from the follow-up.
Here, Mirror Football has rounded up all you need to know about the clutch Lioness, including her net worth, love life and that iconic celebration from England's first Euros triumph.
Who is Chloe Kelly's husband?Just days following the Euro 2025 final, Kelly and her partner, Scott Moore, will mark their first wedding anniversary. The couple tied the knot at Merrydale Manor in Cheshire last summer following their engagement beneath the Northern Lights shortly before Christmas in 2023.
Kelly revealed during the build-up to the final that Moore is currently in Switzerland alongside the rest of her relatives.
"He's my best friend," she said. "So it's great to have the support of him, my dad and brother ... and it's nice that we get to spend some time together."
However, with their anniversary looming, Kelly added: "I haven't even got a card, to be honest. I'm sure in the moment, I'll think of something and get my mum to sort it ... I'm sure Scott has, but I definitely haven't."
Kelly's net worth and salary
Forbes ranked Kelly amongst the top earners at the Women's World Cup in 2023. She secured joint 11th place alongside Kelley O'Hara and Sam Kerr at £890k; though her commercial income of £590k placed her seventh overall.
The Mail on Sunday revealed following Euro 2022 that she was set for a premium Land Rover deal potentially worth £2million.
Kelly's playing salary stood at £300k in 2023, though she has since departed Manchester City for Arsenal on a free transfer this summer following a loan spell, and could be earning even more come this season.
Iconic sports bra celebration - 'I'm going to frame it!'Kelly has already been the hero for England in another international tournament - arguably one of the most important in the Lionesses' history. Drawing 1-1 with Germany at Wembley Stadium, the attacker watched a ball float into the six-yard box and toe-poked it home to put her side ahead with 10 minutes left of extra time.
After a quick look over to the referee and lineswoman to check she was onside, the then-24-year-old took off sprinting across the pitch - pulling her shirt off and swinging it in the air.
This celebration of Kelly screaming for joy in her sports bra was a showcase of liberation and pure elation, and put the Lionesses firmly on the map in women's football.
At the time, many fans and neutral viewers took to social media to praise Kelly's celebration, with tweets highlighting the significance of the moment not only for sport, but for women everywhere.
One wrote: "This image of a woman shirtless in a sports bra - hugely significant. This is a woman's body - not for sex or show - just for the sheer joy of what she can do and the power and skill she has. Wonderful."
Another said: "Chloe Kelly celebrating her goal in a sports bra is the feminist image of the decade," and a third added: "Chloe Kelly is such a vibe.
"The way these girls have just busted so many stereotypes, gained respect for women’s football and had ‘lads, lads, lads’ all over the country GLUED to the final, cheering them on. Times are changing and my god I am here for it."
This moment also brought back memories for some veteran women's football fans. Many will recall American soccer legend Brandi Chastain doing a similar celebration when helping her side to the 1999 World Cup.
Kelly herself was extremely proud of the moment, as she told media at the time in 2022 that her entire outfit from the final would be getting put on show forever. She said: "I’m going to frame my boots, my shirt and my sports bra probably - absolutely everything!"
Now, the Arsenal forward has been continuing her run of entertaining goal celebrations with a 'calm down' gesture aimed at fans after her 119th heroics in the semi-final. England fans will now be hoping that Kelly can do the business, alongside the other Lionesses, and create another moment in history in Sunday evening's final.
